Student-organized Activities
| Our students organize a monthly Student Evening Series where they share their research through informal talks. These evenings provide a forum for students to practice presentation skills, engage in open discussion, and stay in touch with one another's scientific work. Each year, PMB student invite a seminar speaker of their choosing. Previous speakers have included Alexander van Oudenaarden, Peter Kim, Ignacio Tinoco, Barry Honig, and Harden McConnell. |
Seminars Many departments throughout the University host seminar series, giving students the opportunity to hear top scientsits from around the world. In addition, biophysics graduate students regularly attend seminars sponsored by the Jenkins Department of Biophysics and Department of Biophysics & Biophysical Chemistry.
The monthly 'Chalk it Up to Biophysics' seminars feature informal "chalk talks" by PMB faculty and include a lunch buffet. |
