Admissions

We encourage applications from students who have majored in biology, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, and physics, although more diverse backgrounds in related disciplines are welcomed as well. The Graduate Record Examinations are required, but a subject test is not required.  The application deadline is January 2, 2009.

Please use the Johns Hopkins University on-line application, selecting biophysics under the School of Arts & Sciences. Supplementary materials (transcripts, GRE scores, and paper letters of recommendation, if applicable) should be sent directly to:

Office of Graduate Admissions
Johns Hopkins University
101 Whitehead Hall
3400 N. Charles Street
Baltimore, MD 21218

GRE institution code 5332; department code 0222.

Promising applicants will be invited to a Visiting Weekend in early March 2009 to meet with faculty on both campuses, talk with students, and have a look around Baltimore.

Funding is provided by a training grant which is restricted to US citizens and permanent residents. Unfortunately, we cannot consider applications from foreign students unless the student has government aid or funding from a formal agency.
